Nearshore software development from El Salvador
Build a dedicated development team from El Salvador. Engineers working in your time zone (CST, overlap with EST/PST), fluent in English, with proven stacks in production.
Nearshore vs offshore vs onshore
Nearshore means the development team is in a nearby country, in a similar time zone. For US companies, nearshore from El Salvador means CST hours — the same working day as Dallas, Chicago, or Mexico City.
How the three options compare:
- Onshore (US): same culture, same language, highest cost. Senior engineers in major US metros are expensive to hire and retain, with months-long hiring cycles.
- Offshore (India, Philippines, Eastern Europe): lowest cost per hour. But: 10–12 hour time difference means async-only collaboration, 3am meetings, longer feedback loops. English fluency varies. Cultural distance makes product work harder.
- Nearshore (Central America, Mexico): working hours overlap with US business hours. Live stand-ups, code reviews in the moment, pair programming. English fluency validated. Cultural proximity (same holidays, similar business norms, media context overlap). Cost 2–3x lower than onshore.
For product teams that need to ship fast, iterate daily and collaborate deeply with stakeholders, nearshore is almost always the right pick. For purely offline work (batch data processing, maintenance of legacy systems), offshore can still make sense.
Technologies we work with
Pliret's talent pool covers the stacks that dominate modern product development:
- Frontend: React, Next.js, Vue, Angular, TypeScript, React Native, Flutter
- Backend: Node.js, Python (Django, FastAPI), Java (Spring), .NET (C#), Go, Ruby on Rails, PHP (Laravel)
- Mobile: React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android)
- Cloud and infra: AWS, Azure, GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, serverless
- Data: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, data pipelines (Airflow, dbt), warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery)
- AI/ML: Python ML stack (scikit-learn, PyTorch), LLM integration (OpenAI, Anthropic), RAG, embeddings
- QA: Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, performance testing (k6, JMeter)
For specialized stacks not listed (Salesforce, SAP, Softland ERP, mainframe), we recruit on demand through our regional network.
Engagement models
Three ways to work with us, picked by project shape:
- Staff augmentation: one or more engineers embedded in your team, working under your methodology, your tools, your Jira. You manage them. Monthly billing per engineer. Ramp-up in 2–3 weeks.
- Dedicated managed teams: we build and manage a full team for you — engineers + tech lead + QA + delivery manager. We own delivery against agreed outcomes. Billing is monthly for the team or outcome-based.
- Project-based delivery: fixed-scope projects (MVP, migration, specific feature). Pliret owns everything from spec to launch. Billing is milestone-based.
Most clients start with staff augmentation (lowest risk, highest flexibility) and move to managed teams as the relationship matures and we understand the product deeply.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a nearshore developer cost?
Fully loaded monthly cost depends on seniority and stack. Mid-level engineers typically range in a band competitive with onshore contractors, senior engineers higher. Expect 50–70% savings vs US fully loaded cost (including benefits, overhead, recruiting). Contact us with the role and we'll send a specific quote.
How is English fluency validated?
Every candidate goes through a 15–20 minute interview with a C1 or native English evaluator. We report back on CEFR scale (A1 to C2) with qualitative notes on fluency, pronunciation, and comprehension. For client-facing roles, we only present candidates at B2+ or C1+.
How fast can we start?
From signed engagement letter to first engineer onboarded: 2–3 weeks for common stacks, 4–6 weeks for niche or senior roles. Faster if we already have validated candidates in our pool matching your needs.
Do engineers work full-time on our project?
Yes. Dedicated means 40 hours/week on your project only, no multi-tenancy. You get the engineer's full attention, Slack access, calendar availability, exactly like an internal hire.
What about contracts and IP?
Standard MSA + Statement of Work. IP of code written for you is yours — contractually assigned and executed. NDAs mutual. Jurisdiction can be El Salvador or your preferred jurisdiction (US or UK are common for international clients).
